Jackson Palmer is the public face of Dogecoin’s first month: the man who purchased Dogecoin.com, applied the Kabosu mark, and discovered that the internet would treat a satire as an asset. He left the cryptocurrency world in 2015 and has argued, since, that the industry is structurally extractive.

Founding gesture

Palmer’s original contribution was not a paper. It was a URL and a tone. Without Markus there is no ledger. Without Palmer there is no reason anyone looked. The partnership is the whole origin: a page in search of a protocol, a protocol in search of a page.

His later rejection of crypto is part of the historical record, not a footnote to be laundered. A site that sells inscriptions on his coin owes him the courtesy of quoting the exit.
