DOGI is the four-letter tick inscribed as a DRC-20 deploy on 11 March 2023, 09:22:28 UTC, with a maximum of 21 million and a mint limit of 1,000 in the commonly cited JSON. Indexers that begin with Shibescription #0 treat that deploy as final. Indexers that begin in May 2023 instead inherit a 2.1 billion deploy dated 9 May 2023, sometimes displayed as DOGIM. Same letters, different ledgers.

Two histories

The March deploy happened when wallets were crude and mints were a coder’s sport. Cheap fees invited concentrated minting — the recurring accusation against 21 million DOGI. The May deploy was, among other things, a political act: a claim that the first ticker had been too clubby to count. Technical stacks that ignored everything before mid-May accidentally (or conveniently) made that politics into mathematics.

We do not pick a favorite coin. We pick a citation style: always name the indexer window beside the supply. “DOGI” without a window is not a fact. It is a slogan.
